Dave Carroll is an NYC-based Local 600 Director of Photography and filmmaker specializing in narrative features, episodic comedy, and documentary cinema.

With a career built on adapting to unpredictable shooting environments and solving problems on the fly, Dave spent 7 seasons as the primary field DP for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and has shot segments across 13 seasons of The Daily Show. His television work spans narrative units, sketch comedy, and multi-cam interviews for HBO (Game Theory), Apple TV+ (The Problem with Jon Stewart), Netflix (Schulz Saves America) , and Hulu (How To Die Alone).

As a filmmaker, Dave made his feature directorial debut with the documentary Bending Steel, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and won the Emerging Cinematic Vision and Audience Awards at the Camden International Film Festival. His feature film cinematography includes the single-camera comedies Love… Reconsidered, the upcoming Bonzo Gonzo (which he also executive produced) and the feature Exemplum currently in pre-production.

A BFA Cinematography graduate from the School of Visual Arts, Dave brings a collaborative, low-ego approach to every set. He is an ARRI Alexa 35 and Cooke S/4i Mini owner-operator available for travel worldwide.
